Dear Editor,

Shields and colleagues have performed a good study on the RPAD scale. It was strange however to note that they had not come across the OPTION scale which has been published in Quality and Safety in Health Care in 2003 and again a revised version in Health Expectations in 2005. See citation below. It has been translated into Dutch, French, German, Spanish and Italian and would have formed an interesting comparison to their results.
