Call for Abstracts, Posters, and Papers to be presented at a workshop at the 2024 22nd International Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Medicine

Annals of Family Medicine invites primary care researchers, AI researchers, and technology developers to explore the pioneering intersection of artificial intelligence (AI) and clinical scribing to submit original contributions regarding innovative AI applications that automate and enhance the scribing process, to be delivered at a workshop at the 22nd International Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Medicine, July 9–12, 2024, Salt Lake City, Utah, USA.

Workshop Focus

The four-hour workshop (full description) will address the following topics:

  • AI Technologies in Scribing
  • Improving Patient-reported Narratives with AI
  • Objective Clinical Sign Interpretation through AI:
  • AI-Assisted Diagnostic Processes
  • AI in Treatment Planning and Recommendations 
  • Personalization of Primary Care through AI
  • Challenges and Opportunities in AI-Enhanced Scribing
  • Case Studies, Pilot Projects, and Software or Clinical Flow Demonstrations
  • Future Directions for AI in Healthcare Documentation

Submission Details

  • Deadline: May 10, 2024. All submissions will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
  • Criteria: Submissions will be reviewed on their originality, presentation, results, and relevance to primary care.
  • Conference Presentation: Up to eight accepted abstracts, short papers, and posters will be presented at the workshop, though only abstracts will appear on the conference portal maintained by the AIME 2024 Local Chairs' Department of Biomedical Informatics.
  • Potential Publication: Accepted papers and abstracts developed into papers that meet Annals of Family Medicine standards may be considered for publication after the conference.

How to Submit

Please submit your abstract, poster, or paper via our workshop portal on the conference website. Please do not submit work for this workshop to Annals of Family Medicine.
