MISSION

The Annals of Family Medicine, a peer-reviewed clinical research journal, is dedicated to advancing knowledge essential to understanding and improving health and primary care. The Annals supports a learning community of those who generate and use information about health and generalist health care.

INFORMATION FOR AUTHORS

The Annals of Family Medicine publishes in print and online 6 times a year. We welcome manuscripts from authors with new knowledge to contribute to understanding and improving health and primary care:

Original Research. Reports of clinical, biomedical, behavioral, social, health services, and policy research.
Methodology. Development of methods to advance understanding.
Theory. Development and testing of explanatory models.
Selected Reviews. Critical syntheses that advance theory, methods, or identify new research directions. The Annals does not usually publish clinical updates, expert reviews, or case reports.
Essays. Reflections from clinicians, patients, families, communities, and policy makers.
