    I've managed HIT installations for over 25 years. The article is spot on. The 7 lessons learned are especially pertinent. I once encountered a nurse in tears during a "go live" saying that she felt like this was the first day on a new job. We obviously failed in preparation.

    The reference to "plug and play" should include a reference to single vendor solutions over multiple vendors and trying to make multiple...

    The reference to "plug and play" should include a reference to single vendor solutions over multiple vendors and trying to make multiple vendors' systems talk to each other. If this works at all, it will be very expensive, especially on an ongoing basis.
