Submission Guidelines
In recognition of the need for timely information relevant to primary care, the Annals of Family Medicine has created two new online venues for rapid dissemination of COVID-19-related, non-peer reviewed content: The AnnFamMed COVID-19 Preprint Collection, and the Family Medicine Case Notes Blog.
The AnnFamMed COVID-19 Preprint Collection invites original research from the front lines of primary care research and practice. We will share this open-access, pre-peer review content quickly on AnnFamMed.org. New COVID-19-related content will be added to this page as it is vetted by our Editorial Team. Note that inclusion on the preprint site does not constitute peer-reviewed publication in the Annals. See below for submission guidelines.
The Family Medicine Case Notes From the COVID-19 Frontlines Blog was a joint effort between the Annals of Family Medicine and the Association of Departments of Family Medicine (ADFM) to provide a venue for clinicians and health care workers to share personal reflections, best practices, resources, and lessons learned from the frontlines of COVID-19 patient care. See below for submission guidelines.
For push notifications when new content is added to these pages, please follow @annfammed on X.

FOR JOURNAL SUBMISSION OF COVID-19-RELATED ARTICLES:
If your work on COVID-19 is relevant to Primary Care and has value to practice, post-pandemic, and you would like formal consideration for publication in the Annals of Family Medicine, please submit your work to http://afm.msubmit.net and mention “Frontline COVID-19” in your cover letter. If the editors agree that it is important to get this content out quickly, we will get your permission to post it as a preprint prior to peer review. Concurrently, the article will be entered into the Annals peer review process. Please note that most COVID-19 articles submitted to the journal will not be considered for print publication.
