Thirty-Minute Office Blood Pressure Monitoring in Primary Care

As a recent medical graduate, I have had the opportunity of employing this technique and can highly recommend this method of monitoring blood pressure. While medical education in physical examination has improved greatly, the subtleties are often harder to master. The AHA-guidelines of measuring blood pressure are rarely followed to the letter, in favor of time management etc. On top of that 30-min blood pressure monitoring can eliminate a great deal of stress from the patient, often showing a significantly lower reading. I would therefore applaude the inclusion of this technique in the medical curriculum for future medical doctors
