    Early Career Physicians Adapted and Endorsed 2021 NASEM Report on Implementing High-Quality Primary Care Recommendations

    ThemeRecommendation
    The 4 Starfield Cs of primary care and 5 additional Cs1. Structure health care systems to prioritize the extended 4 Cs of primary care to include additionally: convenience, cultural humility, structural competency, community engagement, and collaboration.
    The primary care workforce2. Advance diversity in medicine through purposeful recruitment, hiring, education, and training of health care teams that reflect the demographics of the population served.
    Primary care payment and incentives3. Establish alternative, risk-adjusted payment models for primary care to reward coordinated and comprehensive care for all patients and among all payers.
