Congratulations for this article that describes very well the making of ICPC-3 which is a major achievement in the world of suitable classifications for primary care. One important thing is not mentioned in the article. The former versions of the ICPC have been developed by the Wonca International Classification Committee (WICC). WICC has also been part of the Consortium that now developed ICPC-3. I have been the chair of WICC during the development of ICPC by the consortium. As a group that has contributed so much to the development of ICPC it should have been named in the article. I hereby want to thank the WICC members for all their efforts and contributions to ICPC-3.

I would like to thank the authors for presenting the ICPC-3. The ICD-11's emphasis in the hospital is very clear for anyone taking the Pan-American Health Organization's course: even the case of plantar fasciitis was described as presenting to the hospital! I certainly look forward to the opportunity of learning to use the ICPC-3, and to seeing it adopted in my country.

By the way, please let me supplement references 5-8 with another article on the worldwide of the ICPC-2: https://doi.org/10.5712/rbmfc11(38)1225

Competing Interests: Associate editor of the mentioned article's journal. No financial conflicts of interest.
