    Congratulations on actually testing this intervention. It is very dissapointment that only 33% of the spirometry tests were of adequate quality in the intervention group. The study included practice nurses. Are these nurses that are dedicated to doing spirometry or do several nurses in each practice do the testing making each one have only a few such tests? Was their any support from other team members in the pract...

    Congratulations on actually testing this intervention. It is very dissapointment that only 33% of the spirometry tests were of adequate quality in the intervention group. The study included practice nurses. Are these nurses that are dedicated to doing spirometry or do several nurses in each practice do the testing making each one have only a few such tests? Was their any support from other team members in the practice to attempt to improve problems? Are there any variations from the ATS criteria that would be important to consider? For example, a normal spirometry result can likely be considered as readabel and useable since it may be impossible to get normal results unless you actually have normal results whether or not you have adequate reproducibility. In other studies this has increased the adequate rate (adequate for use in clinical care) by 10% to 20%. Did you consider attempting to add different sorms of feedback such as skype to allow direct observation of problems?
